MediaTek Inc. (Chinese: 聯發科技股份有限公司; pinyin: Liánfā Kējì Gǔfèn Yǒuxiàn Gōngsī) is a Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company that provides chips for wireless communications, high-definition television, handheld mobile devices like smartphones and tablet computers, navigation systems, consumer multimedia products and digital subscriber line services as well as optical disc drives. Headquartered in Hsinchu, the company has 25 offices worldwide and was the third largest fabless IC designer worldwide in 2016. Mediatek was founded in 1997. The company also provides its customers with reference designs.

"This is not a company that is concerned with your personal growth. They do things one way and as a non citizen of China or Taiwan, you will have no voice! You will be restricted in your tools needed to do the job. You will be restristed in your communication as english is a second language for most that work there (especially in HQ) You will be monitored, key strokes, web, wireless, doors, usb devices, time stamp printing, screen shot capture of your print job You will NEVER be trusted You will be excused from meeting that are not in English regardless if the meeting impacts your project. You will be replaced by an H1-B or Expat Qualcomm is the only game in town. Stay away from MediaTek unless you want to do nothing all day.Great pay, little work, freedom to come in late, free meals 4 days a week, great location and view, gym, tennis, pool, nice peopleHr, Management, does not understand IT security, poor IT structure, monitors/documents ALL employee activity"

People working from more than 10 years consider company as their property and less experienced employees as tenants. 4. You will not be provided with sufficient information like important emails but still they expect you wont miss any item from completion."

"If you are being hired X skill they want you to even work for Y and Z skill too and not temporarily but full time , and if you say that if you are being hired for a specific role and working for other domain would spoil your further career in former domain then they won't hire you. They want to compete with Qualcomm but they lack various ethics which will never help them to grow Qualcomm level expertise and values and skillset"

"Worst management.. Most of the companies in Bangalore provided Work from Home options due to COVID-19 Reasons but Mediatek enforcing Business as usual from office (Even after 10-cases in Karnataka and Strict Advice from Government). No decission till date (March 17th 2020). The reasons they are saying: 1. Karntaka Governament just adviced but not directed. 2. No Carona cases identified till date in Mediatek or RMZ building and RMZ buidling is still operational. Looks like they don't react until somebody get effected (or Somebody died). And inside the offices also they are not sanitizing properly.. They are just following regular cleaning way (may be once in a week style). Cubicles and conference rooms are not Sanitized daily basis. Management is seeing the THAMASHA by putting 500+ employees Health/Life in risk."

"No work-life balance. You need to work in midnight because many things are controlled by Taiwan Headquarters. Compensation is bad. Most people here cares himself only, so don't believe what you heard, especially from managers. Worse place for career."

"Company itself un aware of technical ladder.. Biased towards own people Namesake global, but actually typical chinese company!! Hit and Trials by management and every time fails Always firefighting...due to immature decisions."

"They just need a person to do their work, who just needs to do hard working nothing else. No need to use your intelligence at all!! 1. Pay is not as per industry standard when compared to peers. They at most pay 50% of committed bonus when your performance is good. 2.Work learning is absolutely zero, you will be given small modules so that they make sure you don't learn much. Here lies the key when you don't know much it is not easy to change job. 3. Work is more which mean that you need fix more bugs and code clean up. Your learning will be still ZERO. The log and code visibility are very strictly controlled. So learning other modules is impossible. You have work in the mini world for your lifetime, later you will realize what you learned is zero. 4.Innovation is a big joke here. Everything is under control of HQ, whatever they say you should just follow. 5.Appraisals and reviews are just for fun!! I still don't understand how they judge people(Ratings), how much junk a person cleaned?? 6.I really don't have any comments on mangers because the trigger is always in HQ who always think that Indians are useless(Work wise) and we do whatever HQ ask us to do. 7.Language is a big big big barrier, HQ guys don't know English we don't know Chinese. Perfect combo!! just add to that all documents are very well written in Chinese better if you learn that before you join, because you see most mails in Chinese only. The mail comes before you is in Chinese just before you there will be someone who translates for you in English then if you need some other teams help then the mail again goes in Chinese. They don't even care even if they saw there is Non-Chinese boarders in the group. You feel so bad when this happens, but this happens every day with every mail. 8.I am writing all this, as i am from one fine team in Bangalore office. For other teams i left it to your imagination!! 9.When you try to give interviews then you feel humiliated and will realize what you've lost during your work. 10.The funniest thing is, all the scrap you've done need to be report every week in a weekly meeting every week, i am still figuring out what this is for!! These are the few i have written, lot more to experience once you join. For freshers and less experienced guys i have only one thing to say "DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT THIS COMPANY""
